Appetizer Won-Tons with Plum Sauce
1 cup finely shredded pork or beef, cooked
2 tablespoons minced onion
2 tablespoons each: celery, water chestnuts, bamboo shoots, finely diced
1/4 teaspoon Spice Barn Ground Coriander
1/4 teaspoon Spice Barn Ground Ginger
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 egg white, lightly beaten
won-ton wrappers
Mix meat vegetables and spices. Blend soy sauce with cornstarch; add along with egg white to meat mixture. On each wrapper place about a teaspoon of filling in center. Rub edges of wrapper lightly with cold water. Fold corners together forming a triangle and seal. Fry in hot oil 1-2 minutes until golden brown. Drain well. Serve with Plum Sauce or Sweet-Sour Sauce.
Plum Sauce: Mix together 12 ounces plum preserves, 2 tablespoons vinegar, 1/2 teaspoon Spice Barn Ground Ginger, 1/2 teaspoon Spice Barn Ground Mustard and 1/4 teaspoon Spice Barn Ground Allspice.
Sweet-Sour Sauce: Combine1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup ketchup, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 1/4 cup vinegar, 1/2 teaspoon Spice Barn Ground Ginger, 1/4 teaspoon garlic. Combine 1/4 cup water with 1 teaspoon cornstarch. Combine mixtures in a saucepan on medium heat and cook until thickened. Serve cooled to room temperature for won-tons.
Marinated Pork Kabobs
2 cups plain yogurt
2 tablespoon lemon juice
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon Spice Barn Ground Cumin
1/4 teaspoon Spice Barn Ground Coriander
2 pounds pork tenderloin, cut into 1 1/2 inch cubes
8 small white onions, halved
8 cherry tomatoes
1 red bell pepper, cut in 1 1/2 inch pieces
1 green bell pepper, cut in 1 1/2 inch pieces
Combine first 5 ingredients and mix well. Add pork, cover and refrigerate for 6 hours or overnight. Arrange pork, onions, tomatoes, and peppers on 8 skewers. Grill for 30-35 minutes.
Hot Dog Topping
2 pounds ground beef
2 pkg. taco seasoning
16 ounces tomato sauce
1 teaspoon Spice Barn Ground Cumin
1 teaspoon Spice Barn Ground Coriander
Brown beef, drain. Add remaining ingredients; simmer to desired thickness.
